The Anzo Data Collaboration Server

Semantic middleware that enables secure, blended access to existing and new information sources by exposing live data and web services from an unlimited number of data silos as searchable, shareable and reusable linked data sets and semantic web services.

The heart of the Anzo product suite is the Anzo Data Collaboration Server, a powerful semantic engine that maps data to the W3C semantic data standards. Once the data is described in this format, it is then usable by any other semantically-enabled application. Built into the Anzo Data Collaboration Server is the ability to update, upload to and retrieve data from Oracle Database, IBM DB2 data server and Microsoft® SQL Server®, as well as our own semantic database. It is through the Anzo data Collaboration Server that Anzo for Excel and Anzo on the Web move data seamlessly to and from spreadsheets and Web applications.

The Anzo Data Collaboration Server contains many capabilities that are critical to effectively make use of data liberated from your applications silos:

  • Flexible, intelligent mapping between relational and RDF data.
  • Hosts the Anzo RDF Repository, providing flexible, schema-agnostic storage for tracking arbitrary data and metadata.
  • Enables unified, read and write access to any data sources connected to the server, including relational databases, semantic databases, spreadsheet data, and more. (See Anzo Connectors.)
  • Facilitates real-time messaging between any connected applications, notifying interested clients when there is any new or updated data.
  • Allows distributed semantic query and free-text (keyword / key phrase) search.
  • Protects all information with a fine-grained role-based access control system.
  • Creates and tracks auditable provenance trails.
  • Overlays existing systems and data repositories with new data, metadata, and functionality.
  • Accommodates new applications developed in JavaScript, Java, or .Net
  • Provides a directory of web services described conceptually by using semantics making them easy to find and reuse.
  • Maintains ontology and lens registries to enable agile and incremental development and deployment of business applications.
  • Executes and applies business logic including validation and data quality checks.
  • Replicates data sets across multiple servers and to interested client applications to enable offline access to key data.
