Michael Cataldo comes to Cambridge Semantics with a wealth of entrepreneurial leadership experience. Prior to accepting the position of CEO of Cambridge Semantics, Mr. Cataldo spent seven years as a private investor and management consultant focused on early stage companies. In this role, he applied his experience as a start-up founder and CEO to develop business models and execution plans.

In 1997, Mr. Cataldo founded MediVation, Inc., which developed the first ePPi (Electronic Provider Patient Interface) an internet-based solution that allowed doctors to connect to their own patients. Having established MediVation as the ePPi market leader, Mr. Cataldo sold the company to McKesson Corporation in 2000. Prior to founding MediVation, Mr. Cataldo served as the general manager of Optika Imaging's healthcare division. Mr. Cataldo came to Optika having served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for STC Corporation whose DataGate product became the de facto standard for healthcare integration technology during his tenure there.

In his early career, Mr. Cataldo held various management, marketing and sales positions at IBAX Healthcare Systems, Shared Medical Systems and Cable and Wireless. Mr. Cataldo graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics in 1983.
