As President, Alok Prasad brings 25+ years of technology and business experience in building and investing in emerging companies and establishing market facing operations in large corporations. He has been involved with building several early stage ventures from ideation to, in some cases, billion dollar public companies. Alok also leads Business Development and Channels at Cambridge Semantics.

Prior to joining CSI he was a founder and Chairman of MZI Services, an Indian Internet marketing and software company.

In the 90's, as Vice President, he built COBA-M.I.D, a consulting company which was subsequently acquired by Renaissance Worldwide and renamed Adventis. At COBA-M.I.D, he worked with software and technology companies to grow them operationally. He designed and orchestrated the spin out of BCE Emergis, an e-commerce solutions company, from Bell Canada and helped guide it into the leading e-commerce solutions provider in Canada and a publicly traded billion-dollar company.

In 2000, he co-founded Beacon Photonics, a venture capital fund with Boston University and the Wall Street firm Globalvest. Beacon focused on early stage investing in IT infrastructure and Life Sciences. Some of his early stage investments at Beacon and as an individual investor include: A123 Systems, a battery company (IPO, NSDQ:AONE); Verrillon; Borrealis, acquired by Verilink (NSDQ:VRLK); Airvana, a 3G/EVDO equipment company (IPO, NSDQ:AIRV); FiberGrade; Genoptix (IPO, NSDQ:GXDX); Lumerx; and Ophthonix, among others. Prior to Beacon, he was a Principal at PRTM, an operations management consulting company.

Alok received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MS from Auburn University and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.
