Simon brings to Cambridge Semantics his in-depth experience in a wide range of lead software-engineering roles, spanning support, technical sales, research and product development.

Before deciding to found Cambridge Semantics, Simon spent ten years working for IBM in a number of senior roles in both the UK and the USA. In his last position as Lead Engineer for IBM's Enterprise Data Management Solutions division at the IBM Hursley Laboratory, Simon was responsible for the release of IBM Websphere Product Center, a highly scalable repository for managing and linking information about products, locations, trading partners and organizations. Prior to this role he spent a number of years on assignment as a senior member of IBM's Advanced Internet Technology team where he was the lead developer & architect for theSash Weblications Project, an HTML and JavaScript client application framework and IDE combining the richness of the Web with the power of the desktop. He was also responsible for designing and implementing the key prototypes demonstrating loosely-coupled late-bound systems, the earliest form of SOA, for IBM's most senior strategy executives. Simon has a number patents filings to his name.

Simon graduated from Oxford Brookes University, England in 1995 with a Bachelor of Engineering Hons.
